Former porn star and commentator Ai Iijima, 36, was found dead on Wednesday at her apartment in Shibuya, Tokyo. Police have not yet released any details about the cause of death.
According to TV news reports, Iijima was found dead by an employee of her agent at her apartment around 3:30 p.m. TBS quoted police as saying that there was no evidence she was killed, while the Asahi newspaper quoted a police official as saying that Iijima seems to have committed suicide.
Iijima retired from the showbiz industry in March, 2007, has been working on anti-STD campaigns. Her biography “Platonic Sex” became a best seller in 2000.
A Japanese pornography/ TV personality, Iijima Ai, was reported to have died. Iijima Ai, 36, died in her apartment in Tokyo, Japan. Iijima Ai died on Dec. 24, at around 3:30 pm, Japan time.
The China and Japan newspapers reported that Iijima Ai had AIDS. In 2007, Iijima Ai supposedly had health problems. The newspapers claimed the pressure was great recently and she committed suicide. Police are investigating her death.
